QuintoAndar, the largest housing platform in Latin America, announces Rafael López Diez as the new head of its Technology and AI division, as well as Site Lead for the proptech in Europe. With a focus on agentic and conversational experiences, his mission is to lead the evolution of engineering operations — from back-end architecture to front-end interfaces — to provide consumers and partners with the best real estate experience in the market.
López brings a proven track record of tech leadership at major companies including Meta (Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram…), Badoo and Bumble. He joins QuintoAndar to consolidate an efficiency-driven, engineering culture while managing high-caliber talent. Lopez will lead initiatives from QuintoAndar’s European Tech Hub, based in Lisbon, Portugal, an innovation center launched in 2021 to attract global talent where most of the company’s artificial intelligence solutions are developed.
For QuintoAndar CTO Paulo Golgher, the creation of structured teams dedicated to AI reflects the conviction that this technology will be one of the main drivers of market transformation in the coming years, propelling the real estate journey towards a more fluid, efficient and natural customer-centric experience. “We are building a solid foundation for the future, with teams and leaders who possess not only high levels of technical expertise but also the vision necessary to lead the next great era of technological transformation we envision for the sector,” says the executive.
QuintoAndar is the largest digital housing platform in Latin America in operation, with an average of over 15,000 rental contracts and 3,000 purchase and sale agreements executed monthly in Brazil. In this context, new solutions based on artificial intelligence aimed directly at the consumer are continually under development.
